Spice Voyage

We decided February was a good month to learn more about spicing things up...
in the kitchen that is

Sisters signed up and were provided with a different spice and were given the task of making a dish using that spice. We brought our muffin tins and tasted exotic cuisines from all over.
Our "Spice Voyage" activity was a success and here are some the yummy recipes to prove it!
(Pleas email me your recipes asap so I can add them below)

"In ancient days the balm of Gilead was an aromatic spice used to heal and soothe. Made from a bush or a tree that grew plentifully around Gilead, it was a popularly traded commodity, always in high demand... In Relief Society we hold constant the virtues relating to women, mothers, families, and righteous living. At peace with this God-defined direction, Relief Society sisters can bring this balm of Gilead to troubled times. We have the spiritual resources of faith, hope, and compassion to apply as the balm..."

 "My sisters of Relief Society, we are the bearers of the balm of Gilead. May your Relief Society sisterhood soothe and bless you. May you know how I support you in all you do for and with your families. May you feel the ameliorating influence, the balm of Relief Society."

February 2014 VT Message

Happy February! The visiting teaching message for the month is The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Good Shepherd And here are the printables if you choose to use them in your visiting teaching this month. Remember what we learned during the Visiting Teaching Conference we had on Sunday and let's implement it, being a visiting teacher is our most important church calling. No one says it better than the prophet when he said,

YES! Visiting Teaching Printables!

We are excited to provide some free printables for visiting teaching! Check back on the blog at the beginning of each month for the link to the new visiting teaching message and printables to go with it. We know it's not always possible to sit down and visit with each sister but dropping by to check in on them and leaving them with a message is better than nothing! The sisters we visit teach should feel like we love and care for them and we are there when they need us.

We are keeping our baptismal covenants by being faithful visiting teachers...
We should be "willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light;
 Yea, and [be] willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places"
